Ira 2: Kid in the City

Still no additional pictures of our New York trip, but I did put together a little highlight reel of Ira's greatest moments in the big city. It's almost five minutes long but every bit of it is pure Ira awesomeness.

Correction

At the end of the previous post, I linked to our Picasa photo album promising more pictures of NY. I'm having some problems getting those pictures up. You can find a new set of pictures from our cell phones, collected over the past year, but the NY pictures will have to wait a little while.

Here's my favorite picture from the cell phone collection:

Our Trip to New York

A few weeks ago we decided we needed to get out of Nashville . . .

so we got on a plane . . .

and got off in New York.

When we woke up the next morning the Greenpoint Brooklyn Memorial Day parade was going by outside.

After the parade we took a train to Manhattan. If you ask Ira what he did in New York he says, "Choo choo!"

We got lost on the way to Central Park and ended up in this fancy play ground. Ira didn't mind.

But eventually, we made it to Central Park.

And we stayed there all day.

We even met up with our friend Erik and his family. They taught Ira how to play Frisbee.

Ira gave them all high fives.

The next day we went exploring in Manhattan.

We found a naked cowboy. He wasn't as cool as another naked cowboy I know.

After exploring, we went to the Manhattan Children's Museum.

We rode a bike . . .

drove a bus . . .

and a mail truck.

Then we played in some water. It was pretty awesome.

So awesome, in fact, Ira passed out on the train back to Brooklyn.

That night we celebrated Memorial Day with a picnic in McCarren Park.

Some of us celebrated a little harder than others.

Our last day in New York we went to the Natural History Museum, by far our favorite part of the trip. Unfortunately, it was difficult to take any great pictures of all of the fun things we did there. For instance, we didn't get any pictures of Ira pretending to swim underneath the giant whale hanging from the ceiling.

We did get this picture, though, of Ira reacting to an unfortunate combination of plaids. Really he was pretending to be an African mask. At least that's what Kirsten says he's doing.

That night we had dinner with friends in Williamsburg for our last night in New York.

Ira was happy to see everyone but sad that we had to leave.

He said goodbye the only way he knows how. With a bump of the fist.

More pictures of our shenanigans in the Big Apple available here.
