Memorial Day in Florida

Oh, Pensacola. Home, sweet, home.

We got off the road and immediately headed to Chuck E Cheese so that Ira could spend some time with his cousins.

Then we headed to Poppy and Nonny's house. Poppy fixed up the tree house in the backyard and installed a pulley and bucket for extra awesomeness.

The tree house was pretty awesome.

The cucumbers in the garden were great, too.

And more cousins! Ira had a lot to teach Mikey about hanging out in your underwear and playing with trucks.

We spent a few days lost at sea, but we had lots of fun on the boat.

So this is really a candid picture. Neither Poppy nor Ira knew we were taking this picture. They are just this amazing all the time.

Example #2 of the inherent amazingness of Ira.

We did some crazy tricks on this raft.

Well, not so crazy. But we were successfully dragged behind the boat for quite some time.

We found a little strip of beach of our own to hang out on.

Kirsten took a turn getting drug around.

Ira took a break from amazingness to take a little rest, though he looked pretty amazing while doing it.

Mikey and Ira had matching life jackets. Kirsten threw caution to the wind and went life jacketless.

Nonny, Ira, and Poppy on the boat. Everyone is still happy and unaware that we're about to be lost and out of gas and stuck on a sand bar.

Despite the hardships, the boat trip still had a happy ending, and we were back out in the sun the next day.

Isaiah wasn't too sure what to think about the water at first, but he jumped in after examining it for a while.

Ira had no hesitation about the water.

And Kirsten had no hesitation about jumping into a giant, floppy hat.

Nana and Josh also enjoyed the water but left their floppy hats at home.

After a long day of swimming, Izzy and Ira took a relaxing drive around the arcade at CiCi's.

Really, we couldn't stay out of the water. GG and Ira took a dip before dinner.

Ira loved GG's house so much he had a sleep over.

He really liked GG's giant bath tub, which he filled to the top with bubbles.

The next morning we took GG to the Exploreum in Mobile. Ira and I did some exploratory surgery with robot hands.

GG, Kirsten, and Ira learn about stuff.

They had the best play area at the Exploreum. There was a boat, a lighthouse, and a fish market.

GG is probably teaching Ira how to cook and clean a crab.

The ocean is made of balls.

There was fun for everyone.

Oh my gosh, look at that kiss.

A little more great-grandmother love.
